That Feeling of Being Special as Relaxing Summer Breezes Blow

I could feel the release of tension like steam escaping from a pressure cooker. It was easier to let the other car go first or be patient with the people in line at the grocery store. I began smiling and looking at people instead of hurrying into the store, eyes down, forehead wrinkled.
Could just a summer break from work produce such good fruit in my life, I wondered. But the peace and ease of life has returned. Can I produce this same fruit once work cranks up again in August? It will take prayer and effort, a transformation produced by the Holy Spirit.
To celebrate this relaxing of mind and body, our youngest surprised me by setting the table and giving me the "Red Plate." Not only did it make me feel special but proud that he remembered our traditions and chose to honor me the last day of school (he's just moved back home last month, after living on his own for almost one year).
Because Ann lets this carnival focus on anything to do with food, I thought this would be appropriate. The food was Chinese ordered from our favorite Chinese restaurant.
May your summer be filled with easy breathing, warm breezes, and piles of memorable moments. Enjoy the rest.
And remember that we are special to the Lord every day!

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such thing there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
