Hubby Gets Out

It's amazing how beautiful life seems when you are seeing it with new eyes. Eyes that have only seen the inside of one's house for the last two weeks. The sky seems bluer, the trees bloom greener. Every white cloud  paints a picture. The desert heat feels refreshing against your skin. Hope fills your vision like a rainbow.
Today was Hubby's first outing after knee replacement surgery two weeks ago. He drank in the beauty  surrounding him. Grateful to be able to walk outside. Relieved to get the doctor's stamp of approval on his recovery process, although it has seemed slower than what he expected.

Yet it was my eyes that were looking at the world through joy-colored glasses. My steps felt lighter. My heart beat steady. And there was a sweet tune dancing about my head. I kept asking Hubby to take a picture with my cell phone of everything around us. The mountains, the sky, the clouds. I was captivated by God's creation again--the same one that surrounds me everyday.
On the way home, we stopped for lunch at a bagel shop. It was a pleasure to sit together at an eatery and enjoy tasty sandwiches.
It's amazing how much you enjoy the little things when you have not had the opportunity to taste of their goodness for awhile. Each day I need to put on my joy-colored glasses to see the world in a new way.

"I will sing of the Lord's great lover forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself." Psalm 89:1-2 NIV
