We are Princesses

We gathered our plates filled with crab quiche, fresh fruit, tossed salad, tuna in tomato cups, and made a beeline for the family room to sit amongst friends and watch the wedding of the century. Just us girls, our tea and chatter, laughter and a few tears permeated the room as we bubbled over with excitement as the recording of the wedding transported us to the steps of Westminster Abbey and into the seat of an honored guest.
Before the ceremony, we were all captivated by the fashionable, and sometimes outlandish, parade of hats entering the church.
"Oh, look at that one. I think I'd like it, but how does it stay on your head?. Isn't that one crazy with all the stiff ribbon effects. It reminds me of a storybook character. Oooh, I really like that black and white hat. What about the pink one? And look at the Queen's sunny yellow hat and outfit," the girl ramblings continued until the procession of cars carrying the bridesmaids, the attendants, the parents of the betrothed, and the bride and groom motored down the street to the Abbey.
Then the moment arrived that we had all been waiting for. Kate Middleton stepped out of seclusion in her much anticipated wedding gown. Silence drifted across the room. All eyes glued on the television. When she appeared entering the car, the chatter returned.
"Oh it's simply classic. The lace is beautiful. And look at the tiara. It's not overdone."
And when she stepped out of the car in front of the Abbey where we could get a better look at the dress, more dreamy comments ensued.
Earlier I had caught a glimpse of the future Duchess of Cambridge's mother and I remarked, "Did she ever think she would raise a daughter that would become a princess?"
The magnitude of having a princess for your daughter rattled my simple mind filled only with the daily tasks it had to direct. Then the idea slowly filtered into my heart where it encountered the Holy Spirit.
"Wait a minute," my heart skipped a beat. "We are all princesses if we believe in Jesus. He has bestowed on us the title that makes us heirs to His Father's kingdom and members of the most royal of Royal Families."
Just imagine standing at the entrance to heaven in the most beautiful wedding gown your dreams could imagine. In less than four minutes, you will meet your bridegroom--not just a prince or Duke but the King of Kings and His Father who will welcome you into a palatial dwelling beyond anything you could imagine. There the Royal Wedding feast of eternity will take place to rival anything you have tasted on earth.
Keeping up the proper appearance of a princess will not be a concern for you. You will have been equipped already to worship and sing praises to your Lord for all eternity.

"Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand is the royal bride in gold of Ophir." Psalm 45:9 NIV

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." 1 Peter 2:9-10 NIV

"What are your reactions to being God's princess, His bride?"
