I love working back in the classroom. There's so much to learn and experience all over again. Assigned to one student as a special ed teaching assistant, I get more of the experience and less of the preparation.
So, just like the kids, I anxiously awaited the arrival of our butterfly kit with the caterpillars, food, and plastic see-through container. It was thrilling to watch the students marvel at the different stages of development in the life cycle of the butterfly. Caterpillar to cocoon to butterfly.
Wonderful reminders of the new creations that we are in Christ. The old does pass away--gradually. (I wish it disappeared as fast as those cocoons did.) And through a painstaking process we continue to become new creations in Him.
Spring is full of God's revelation in His creation that He offers us New Life in Him. Let's be sure to cocoon ourselves in His arms and Word that we may become beautiful butterflies, too.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV
Keep in mind that in the Greek, the translation means "he is becoming a new creation"--signifying process--and "the new is coming." Process again. It takes a while for the newness to be completely visible.
