Norther Arizona University's Lumberjack Mascot |
Like the gigantic lumber jack towering above our youngest son's basketball team during a summer camp, the Lord hovers over us and looms larger than life aainst the enemy of our souls. Because our son attended a Christian High School, every game began with young men huddled in a circle, heads bowed. Prayers were lifted up for safety, strength, wisdom, godly character, and for the well being of their opponent. Yet, every young man in that group hoped to defeat their opponent--not the same as an enemy. They were out for the win.
Our enemy is not just our opponent. He is the one who comes to destroy our souls.
May we rejoice with the Israelites in Isaiah and sing praises to God because He will defeat our enemy.
"The Lord will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies." Isaiah 42:13 NIV
I think the Lord is calling me, "Let the desert and its towns raise their voices; Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim his praise..." Isaiah 42:11a
