All Dressed in Worry

"And why do you worry about clothes?  See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.  Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.  If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?  So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'  For the pagans run after all these things, and our heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:28-33

In these stressful economic times, it is difficult not to spin worry and anxiety.  Finances are tight, fear of losing one's job runs high, the threat of foreclosure on your home looks more possible with each passing day, and how to provide for your children is more than a mental exercise.
But we have a Heavenly Father who cares for the grass of the fields which is little compared to His love and care for us.  We just need to release our worries to the One who will care for us.  Time spent seeking the Lord, drawing close to Him in prayer and through His word, asking Him to develop in us a desire for His kingdom will profit us far more than all the worry in which we clothe ourselves.
May the Lord of Heaven and Earth clothe you with His loving kindness and His peace that you may rest carefree in His arms.

How does the Lord lift your cloak of anxiety and worry?
